Previous Public Arts Endeavors
The Temple Terrace Arts Council routinely seeks opportunities to raise arts and cultural awareness including the support of artists, public art projects, donations to arts & cultural activities, youth arts programming. and scholarships.
The generosity of Sponsors and Friends have enabled us to:
- Present art scholarships to high school art students;
- Commission artist Charles Fager (USF) to create a multi-colored sculpture Origami, subsequently installed at the Family Recreation Complex and donated to the city;
- Commission painting of several murals at the Temple Terrace Library children’s section;
- Commission a set of murals at Riverhills Elementary School;
- Purchase a kiln for Terrace Community School;
- Install outdoor electrical lines at Riverview Park;
- Provide an annual grant to Temple Terrace Leisure Services in support of summer art programs;
- Refurbish the Origami sculpture on the facade of the Family Recreation Complex;
- Give an art project grant to Blake High School;
- Assist Masque Theater in the production of local performances;
- Foster Participation in the arts via the Fish on the Fence project, a permanent outdoor display at Greco Middle School;
- Produce the Public Pollock Project;
- Produce the Arts and Crafts Festival each November since 1973;
- Produce an annual fundraiser Art en Blanc in April since 2012;
- Sponsor Fresh Views, an annual Kindergarten through 5th Grade art exhibit and contest which the Council displays at the Arts and Crafts Festival.
